What You Will Learn?

In this course, you will learn about Section 1: Numbers from my course series titled "BRUSH UP: Basic Math and Pre-Algebra: Numbers [Sections 1-22]". This particular course is the first part of the 22 series.

I called this course “BRUSH UP” to give the audience an immediate impression on the back of their heads of what this course is all about. As the name implies “brush up”, means, to improve or polish your existing skills in mathematics. Meaning to say, that we cannot cover all the topics that will be covered in one year of Basic Mathematics and Pre-Algebra at the Elementary and Middle School levels. That’s why this is the quickest or the fastest way to learn mathematics in no time because if you have already the stock knowledge of mathematics in your brain this course is for you; this course will polish your skills and learn more about your craft, and more opportunities will be open to you using my "BRUSH UP: Basic Math and Pre-Algebra: Numbers [Sections 1-22]".

We'll review the Natural Numbers, Whole Numbers, and Place Values. Then, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Properties of 0 and 1, Division, Prime Numbers and Factoring, Order of Operations, and Variables and the Distributed Property.

I fusion the two subjects "Basic Math and Pre-Algebra" such as basic concepts related to mathematics such as counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for the basic math operation, and pre-algebra topics to be strong math students are introduced to integers, exponents, fractions, square roots, step equations, linear equations, ratios, proportions, percent's, inequalities, graphs, linear functions, monomials and polynomials, introduction to algebra and geometry, and applications.

I designed this course for my children (VERA and VENICE) to help them succeed in Academics. The objective is to prepare my kiddos to become confident in using mathematics to analyze and solve problems both in school and in real-life situations. To develop their knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to pursue further studies in mathematics. I used the straightforward approach so, it wouldn't make it hard for my kids.

I turn the Math book into TEACHING tools they need, rather than PREACHING :-)

This online course "BRUSH UP: Basic Math and Pre-Algebra" series was also created in response to the Department of Education's implementation of the new curriculum for the K to 12 basic education programs in the Philippines. This course is not sponsored by or affiliated with the Department of Education or DepED.

Meaning to say, if your child or children are poor in MATHS or; preparing for the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) exam. Don't worry, I got you covered, this course is definitely for you (PARENTS) and your CHILDREN. Although the idea why this course was created is to help my children to polish their math skills, the course is designed as well for YOU to brush up on your math skills, realize your hidden potential, develop your mathematical faculties, and improve your academic performance drastically.

The main problem of the student is fundamentals are poor. So, they are not able to understand the subject properly. They are not able to apply what has been taught earlier.

Who this course is for:

This course is for "first-timers", students who want to brush up on long-forgotten math skills, homeschoolers, test preppers, or just people who want to know more about basic mathematics and pre-algebra.

This course is your life saver and gateway to success in Mathematics. This course Prepares YOU, gives YOU confidence, and will help YOU to overcome Math anxiety.

Motivational Quote,

Abraham Lincoln was quoted as saying “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax.” An ax is a strength multiplier. You can be the strongest lumberjack in the world, but with a dull ax, you are in trouble!

  • How to use the Distributive Property with different Variables
  • To succeed to this course, I only ask that you come open minded and ready to learn.
